The word “nihari” comes from the Arabic word “Nahar”, which means “day” or “morning”. This dish is called Nihari because originally, it was eaten in the morning. The history suggests that it started in Old Delhi, where Mughal nawabs and workmen ate it to fuel them throughout the day. Watch the full Beef Nihari Recipe below;

Nihari is a wealthy, slow-cooked meat stew flavored with flavors and thickened with atta, or Pakistani & Indian-style durum entire wheat flour. Pakistani forms of Nihari are regularly made with beef, but Nihari can be made with lamb, goat meat, or chicken.

Meat Nihari is a conventional Pakistani slow-cooked stew eminent for its wealthy and fragrant flavors. This generous dish is made with juicy hamburger shanks stewed in a mix of cloves, cinnamon, and cardamom, making a strong and savory broth. You can make it with chicken or goat but meat is my favorite and I like to serve it with naan or rice.
